Abstract
The researchers conducted an analysis of a children’s short story titled, “Balong Batsit, Ang Bidang Bulilit at Bayaning Bulinggit.” The story is all about an energetic child with an imaginative mind that gives him a creative imagination. The purpose of this analysis is to identify the imagination of the protagonist child named Batsit and to examine the effects despite the physical deficiency and weakness. It also aims to connect the imaginations of young people before and now. In the method of data collection, the researchers agreed on the selected story to be used in analysis which was taken from the Palanca Awards website because the story was awarded by the Palanca Awards in 2022. In the analysis, the child protagonist showed his imagination throughout his journey. The effect of imagination on the character of the child in the story has been shown. The child showed courage and great thinking to overcome the obstacles he faced. The image of the youth is connected before and now through the development of technology that affects the imagination of the youth. The analysis showed the importance of imagination in the development of people as individuals facing the hardships of life.
