Abstract
The increasing trend on the demand of beauty and personal care products in the Philippines is very evident, wherein it infers that mass products are marketable among Filipinos. This study generally aimed to determine the acceptability of the utilization of Soursop as body scrub. Specifically, it aimed to: (1) determine the acceptability of body scrub using Soursop among the three treatments in terms of appearance, fragrance and abrasiveness; (2) find out the sensory qualities of body scrub using Soursop among the three (3) treatments when applied in terms of exfoliating, moisturizing, and smoothing effect; (3) find out if there is significant difference in the acceptability of body scrub using Soursop among three treatments in terms of appearance, fragrance and abrasiveness; (4) find out if there is significant difference in the sensory qualities body scrub using Soursop among the three treatments when applied in terms of exfoliating , moisturizing, and smoothing effect; and (5) find out the economic value analysis. Result revealed that the acceptability of the product favors on Treatment B compared to Treatments C and A. In terms of appearance, result showed that treatment B is very appealing as compared to treatments C and treatment B. As to fragrance, the result presented that treatment B exhibited a very pleasant fragrance compared to treatments C and A. Lastly, as to abrasiveness, the result revealed that treatment B got the very acceptable abrasiveness as compared to treatments C and A. The result in terms of the effectiveness of the body scrub product revealed that treatment B is the very effective treatment compared to treatments C and A. As to the quality of exfoliating effect, result revealed that treatment B very effective compared to treatments C and A. In terms of moisturizing effect, the result showed that treatment C exhibited a very effective result compared to treatment B and A. As to smoothing effect as one of the qualities of a body scrub, the result presents that treatment C reveals a very smooth effect when applied to skin compared to treatments B and C. Also, it is found out that there is a significant difference in the acceptability of body scrub using Soursop among three treatments in terms of appearance, fragrance and abrasiveness. More so, it is revealed as well that there is a significant difference in the sensory qualities of body scrub using Soursop among the three treatments when applied in terms of exfoliating, moisturizing, and smoothing effect.
