Abstract
In today’s world, research is widely recognized as crucial for the progress of developing countries. Given the growing influence of globalization on education, it is essential for educators to enhance their skills and knowledge to effectively improve and explore their teaching methods. This study utilized a descriptive correlation design which investigated the teacher’s competence in the conduct of research and included the exploration of profile of the respondents and perceived level of manifestation vis – a – vis the significant relationship between respondent’s research competence and manifestation of research skills which was the basis in crafting an enhancement program. Results of the study disclosed that higher levels of education were linked to better information-seeking abilities, suggesting that educators with advanced degrees were more skilled at finding information for research. It also showed that conducting more research projects was associated with better research skills, particularly in defining tasks, seeking and using information, synthesizing findings, and evaluating outcomes. Furthermore, the study emphasized a strong link between teachers’ research publications and their perceived proficiency in research skills. Significant correlations in task definition, information-seeking strategies, and synthesis indicated that increased publication output positively influenced skill development in these areas.
