Abstract
As a teacher, it is essential to acquire various techniques in teaching or presenting lessons to make them exciting for students. The primary objective of this study is to examine the social conditions depicted in selected Korean and Filipino dramas and to develop a model for analysis. Documentary or content analysis was employed to determine the differences and similarities of the dramas. The study includes two Korean dramas and two Filipino dramas, selected based on similar themes and having been aired on television. The social conditions portrayed in each drama reflect and symbolize the country it represents. These social conditions provide awareness of the societal events and may open the viewers’ minds to take action in addressing the challenges faced by society. The differences and similarities in each country’s culture serve as a path to fostering a broader mindset that respects and values one another. Over time, these differences will bridge the gap, allowing for a deeper understanding and appreciation. Cultural differences will no longer be a hindrance but may instead influence one’s own culture. As a result of this research, a new model for analysis was developed. This study may also assist other researchers in gaining a deeper understanding of both local and foreign works in the context of globalization.
