Abstract
This study looked into the implementation of the kindergarten education in Tabaco City Division, school year 2022 to 2023 along curriculum, instruction, assessment, learning resources, learning space and environment and monitoring and evaluation. It utilized the descriptive survey and correlational method. The null hypothesis that there is no significant relationship between the level of implementation and extent of support of the Kindergarten Education program along the six (6) components was tested using t-test and the Pearson Product Moment of Coefficient of Correlation was employed to determine the relationship. The respondents were seventy-one (71) kindergarten teachers of Tabaco City Division. Frequency counts, weighted mean, t-test, Pearson Product Moment Coefficient of Correlation and ranking were the statistical measures applied in the analysis of the data. The salient findings of study show that the level of implementation of the Kindergarten education program along the six (6) components has an over-all weighted mean of 4.19 with an adjectival description of high. The extent of support of the school heads along the six (6) components is often with an over-all weighted mean of 4.12. The t-computed values in curriculum is 10.703; in instruction is 7.918; in assessment is 13.999; in learning resources is 2.332; in learning space and environment is 14.657 and in monitoring and evaluation is 13.403. All the t- computed values are lower than the tabular value of r which is 1.86. The challenges identified as the top most challenges in the six (6) components are as follows: in curriculum, it is difficult to select the developmentally appropriate practices applied in the classroom; in instruction, increasing number of learners while in assessment, it is multiple forms to fill up. The challenge with the highest frequency in learning resource is inadequate high quality learning resources. Furthermore, in learning space and environment, it is unsupportive school environment and lastly in monitoring and evaluation, the challenge with the highest frequency is inadequate monitoring and evaluation tools. The implementation plan may address the challenges met in the implementation and support to the Kindergarten Education Program in Tabaco City Division.
